School of Fish is a WWF-Canada initiative dedicated to sharing information about our oceans and the importance of using marine resources – especially seafood – sustainably.
Over the past 40 years, overfishing, habitat destruction, and a changing climate has reduced many ocean fish such as sharks, cod and Bluefin tuna by half, while pushing other populations near the point of collapse. This spells big trouble for our oceans - and the billions of people that depend on them around the world.
Ocean health is directly linked to the way we cultivate and capture seafood. As the largest traded food commodity on the planet, we need to ensure the seafood we eat comes from sustainable sources.
As School of Fish grows, it will offer a place for people to learn about the great wealth our oceans have to offer and how each of us can play a role in ensuring they stay healthy.
